VIBES Tribe

This FREE music enrichment program is an extension of the school day and open to all teens. VIBES & Mercer Family Resource Center are proud to provide music exploration opportunities for teens to explore creating music. Music can help them deal with stress, excel academically and socially, and have a creative outlet. Students learn: sound engineering, programming, looping, coding, music writing, music theory, play marimbas, percussion, and more! Learn how to lay down some sick beats! VIBES TRIBE is a 21st Century Community Learning Centers that is made possible thanks to funding provided by Title IV, Part B in the Every Student Succeeds Act.


UKULELE CLASSES

Students receive one 45-minute class per week for all ages 5-7, 8-12, and teen classes.

Classes combine both ukulele and singing together where students learn about the native Hawaiian instrument and gain a solid foundation in technique. This class is focused in ukulele as well as, how to read music, work on rhythm technique, strumming, and performing as an ensemble.  

Students will need to purchase a ukulele for this class. Please wait for the first class to get more information on what brand and type of ukulele to get.

For advanced classes/ensembles, students will need to be placed into the appropriate level class. Student success is the upmost of importance and placing them into the correct class will help ensure students excel and grow to meet their full potential.


DRUMLINE CLASSES

Students will participate in a 60 minute class weekly/bi-weekly for ages 9 and up. Students learn techniques, rudiments, cadences, and grooves. Drumlines participate in performances, battles, and drumline competitions. Our drumlines have performed and battled with the Denver Broncos Stampede Drumline, Denver Nuggets SkyLine Drumline, Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps, and have attended the DCI International Drumline Battle Competition in Indianapolis. Students will be required to pass an audition for advanced and intermediate drumlines.

Students will need to purchase sticks and hearing protection for this class. Please wait for the first class to get more information on what brands to purchase.

ORCHESTRA CLASSES

Students will participate in a 60 minute class weekly/bi-weekly for ages 8 and up. Students will gain a solid foundation on violin, viola, cello, or double-bass while working as an ensemble in our beginning, intermediate, and advanced level programs.

Students will need to purchase or rent their own instrument. Prior to the first class, please visit your local music store to be sized for your instrument.

For advanced classes/ensembles, students will need to be placed into the appropriate level class. Student success is the upmost of importance and placing them into the correct class will help ensure students excel and grow to meet their full potential.


BAND CLASSES

Students will participate in a 60 minute class weekly for ages 8 and up. Students gain a solid foundation on flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and french horn while working as an ensemble in our beginning and intermediate level programs.

Students will need to purchase or rent their own instrument. Prior to the first class, please visit your local music store to select your instrument.

For advanced classes/ensembles, students will need to be placed into the appropriate level class. Student success is the upmost of importance and placing them into the correct class will help ensure students excel and grow to meet their full potential.


ROCK BAND

Students will participate in a 60 minute class weekly for ages 8 and up. Rock band classes are for students who have experience playing their instruments and are ready for the next level! Students learn how to play all styles of music in a student driven atmosphere with professional musicians guiding the class.  Instruments include: vocals, guitar, drum set, bass, and piano.

Students participating in these classes are required to take private lessons in addition to their class.
